Dariali Energy- The first carbon neutral hydro power project

Dariali HPP project is the first energy project to deliver carbon neutral construction in Georgia. The project includes a reforestation component which would target the full compensation of all emissions associated with the project over its lifecycle through the capture of carbon in vegetation. 

Reforestation project will bring additional benefits to the local eco-system, which includes a component for the cultivation of forests, with the aim of the fully compensation of emissions generated in the total course of the project through absorption of carbon by plants.

The program of reforestation is the first carbon neutral construction project in Georgia and for the EBRD in all regions.
